Internet Friends are Real Friends
Hullo humanoids. Let's get right into the topic today. Internet. Friends. Are. Real. Friends. Just because you met them online does not mean that they're fake or that they're creeps. Not everyone on the internet is a man in their mid thirties who just want to stalk young women. I mean, you're probably not a 30 something man who just wants to creep on teenage girls, right? Yes, there are people like that online but there are creeps in real life too. And just like in real life you do have to be careful online. But as it turns out, some people online tell the truth about things like their age and gender.
Okay now that I've gotten that out of the way. Let's talk about how internet friendship is just as real as in person friendship. I have one question for all of you out there. Are you friends with the people you know in person because you can physically touch them or is it because of the conversations you've had and their personality? For most of you the answer is probably the second one. You're friends with people because you can talk to them and because you get along with their personality. It's the same on the internet except you just can't shake their hand or hug them. You can develop real friendships with people online. Yes, you do need to be careful with who you talk to on the internet but just because you met them through Facebook or while playing a multiplayer video game or any other platform where you interact with strangers online doesn't mean your friendship isn't real. Sometimes internet friends can offer more comfort and support during hard times than in person friends can. They are real people who care about you, they're just in a different town talking to you through a screen.
This is something that the older generations need to understand. But those of you with internet friends also have to realize that most everything they hear about internet friendship is from the news and if it's on the news than it's normally because something bad happened due to this internet friendship. Other people have only heard the bad and they have a hard time seeing the good in making friends online. So rather than getting mad because they say that your online friends aren't real friends or that they're just lying to you about everything try explaining things to them. Help them understand that the portrayal of internet friends on the news isn't actually how it is.
Internet friends are a good thing, especially those who have social difficulties or are outcasts. The internet can be a place for support and authentic friendship. Though you do still have to be careful it is a great place. And I personally have made some of my best friends through it. I hope this post can help some of you out there who are either curious about internet friendship or for those of you who wanted something logical to help prove that internet friendship is great. I'll see all you dudes in the next post.
